Mossery

Two former college students from sunny Malaysia got together to create a unique brand of stationery that is useful and makes people happy;  that brand is Mossery!  And it's now at Meeniyan.

The makers of Mossery want to share the joy of paper with others, the way it smells, the way the paper grain feels under your fingertips, right down to the rush of excitement you get upon writing the first word in a brand new notebook.  And who could resist these cuties?

All of Mossery’s products are made out of top grade, FSC certified paper from Sweden to make sure the Earth stays green, and are then locally printed and hand crafted to ensure the products are true to their original designs

Perfect for gifts for friends of all ages, the designs are playful and fun with hand-drawn illustrations and a textured cover card stock.  The notebooks are perfect for writing down inspirational quotes, items to add to the shopping list, things that must be remembered, or simply to hand to a child who needs entertaining for a little while.

Which one will you choose?

Wooden Postcards

Always exciting to open a new box of goodies, and this time it's wooden postcards from the company Timbergram.  Found this Company at the Trade Fair in Melbourne, back in February and have been eagerly awaiting this order which had to wing itself all the way from England.  Okay, here's the parcel shot, filled with anticipation!!

And inside, here we go.  Look at them, lined up there, looking gorgeous!!

They truly are a delight, and if you're like me and enjoy popping something into the post to stay in touch with family and friends the old fashioned way, then these are for you too.  They are distinctive and stylish and a gift to treasure!

Timbergram was inspired by the original wooden postcards of the early 1900's.  They are designed and produced in the United Kingdom and are now in over 500 stores and galleries in the UK.  So if you can't get to Selfridges, then you will be able to find them here, in Meeniyan.  Come in to see the range.  There are some birthday ones too.

Now, some good news to share!  Timbergram works closely with Tree Aid and helped to plant over 1,000 trees in 2013.  For every 10 Timbergrams sold, another tree can be planted by a villager in the drylands of Africa, transforming their life and their landscape for the long term.  Look at these beautiful, happy faces.

The price you ask?  Just $4.95 per Timbergram, why not pop one in the post today, give to a friend, keep for yourself, or perhaps frame one.  Wooden it be nice?

Papaya!

Where urban chick meets art as inspiration.

Look what's arrived at Meeniyan Paper Shop this morning.  Papaya!  Gorgeous, glittery stationery by Anahata Katkin.  Already out of the box, priced up, photographed and on display ready for your viewing pleasure! Maybe you would like to come in to have a bit of a look.  I want to take one of everything home with me so you may have to be quick.

Beautiful tins with glittery stickers of all kinds.  You can never have too much glitter, right? Use the stickers, then you have the tin for other treasures when you have finished.  Also tins of Birthday Bunting, ready to bring out for all the birthdays each year, and keep safe when not needed.

Anahata Katkin is an Oregon-based artist and co-founder of Papaya!  Her work is a combination of painting, graphic design and handmade, mixed media pieces.  Anahata says “I like the place where pretty and gritty meet.  Where flowers, faces and ink run together.  I’m inspired endlessly by plants, travel, textiles, folk arts, Asian influences and faces...always faces. I build artwork then I tend to overlay a character or mood that I feel emerges as I go.  I believe in working from impulse-to-impulse and not thinking too hard during the process.  I make artwork for myself and then take it from there.”

Frankie

Look at the cover of Issue 58 of Frankie, now in store.  Isn't it fabulous?  Each issue of Frankie is eagerly awaited because of the fabulous artwork on the cover (and also all the amazing things you find inside!)  This cover is by the amazingly talented Dutch illustrator, Lieke van der Vorst.  I want to sit at this table, I think the conversation would be quite fantastical.

Immediately I wanted to know more of this illustrator and to see more of her work.  From Lieke's website she writes "I get my inspiration from fine things around me.  Our vegetable garden, cooking, going to the market and tea in the company of family and friends, these sources of inspiration I incorporate into my artwork".

Here is the beautiful Lieke and if you would like to follow her, this is a link to her website.

If you don't yet know Frankie magazine, check this issue out, it's a goodie!!
